Home Cinema

For an installation that meets your expectations.

We all know the term "home cinema" but in reality, few people have the knowledge to build a true home cinema room. At High Technology Solutions, we have the expertise to create a home cinema room tailored to your budget. Whether it is to upgrade your current setup or start a new dedicated room, our experience will make the difference! Home cinema is divided into 3 segments: Image , Sound and the synergy of the room.

The Image

Are you more of a TV or projector person? The differences? The advantages? The disadvantages?

Television

  • Sizes from 23" to 100" in 16:9 format
  • Rapidly changing technology (resolution, panel, and style)
  • For smaller rooms
  • All connections are integrated into the TV
  • Built-in speakers (low quality)
  • Integrated smart applications (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, etc.)
  • Low price per inch up to 65" depending on the chosen technologies
  • High price per inch 75" and above
  • Light coming from the TV for bright/vivid colors

Projector

  • Sizes from 72" to 200" in standard 16:9 format and 235:1 for movies
  • 2 available technologies: Lamp or Laser
  • Lamp has a lifespan in hours (average of 1500 to 2000 hours)
  • The lamp is replaceable ($500 to $1500)
  • Laser can reach 20,000 hours of viewing
  • Requires a projection wall or screen (highly recommended)
  • Requires external audio system and source management (receivers)
  • Moderate price per inch compared to the same size TV
  • Total immersion like IMAX at home
  • Projected light image is more matte and less eye-straining
Today we find a multitude of offered resolutions. Full HD with a dimension of 1920X1080 pixels, 4K with a dimension of 3840X2160, and 8K with a dimension of 7680X4320 pixels. The more pixels, the better the image quality, but be careful! The source of the content is to be considered here. For example, if I watch a Full HD source on an 8K TV, I will not be satisfied with the image quality because my TV will highlight the flaws of the Full HD resolution.
The reverse cannot be supported, meaning if I want to watch 4K content on my Full HD projector, it will not work. Today, traditional cable providers can rarely offer 4K content directly (e.g., a hockey game) but increasingly on-demand. Various streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video have a lot of 4K content on their different platforms.

When we want to get a new device, the standard is 4K. .

The Sound

As for the sound, it is often the part that people neglect in living rooms or home cinemas. Today, we find a multitude of ways to listen to sound. The main ones are: On the TV with its original speakers, added soundbar, or a speaker set with an audio/video receiver also called "amplifier". Why choose external sound to the TV? Simply to improve the quality and power of the sound. When we say 5.1, what does it mean? The first number indicates how many channels we have in front and back for mid and high frequencies. The second number indicates the subwoofer(s) for low frequencies commonly called "subwoofer" or "boom boom". Recently, we have seen a new technology called Dolby Atmos, which is designated by the third number, for example, 7.1.4

Dolby Atmos was created in 2012 in Pixar's Brave. A technology that complements the "surround" effect that everyone has known for a long time. Not only are we surrounded by sound, but now we have immersion from above/ceiling. This technology was only used for movies until the release of the Game of Thrones series. Today, most new movies and series have the Dolby Atmos effect.
